This dam is one of the biggest dams in Tirunelveli district. It was built in 1957 on the Manimuthar River, a big river that flows into the Thamirabarani River. Behind the dam are the lovely Podhigai Hills and Thamirabarani River. The dam can hold water up to 118 feet.
