Online registration for Ooty & Kodaikanal e-pass website is epass.tnega.org active from May 6th, 2024 morning 6am. epass.tnega.org where the link going to launch online from May 06th, 2024 by TN e-governance. All vehicles will be allowed to enter Kodaikanal from 07.05.2024 to 30.06.2024 only after E-pass check at the toll booth near Silver falls.

Prerequisites for TN E Pass Registration to Ooty & Kodaikanal Entry:
- Providing Information: Fill in necessary details including your name, home and destination addresses, type of travel (inter-district/inter-state), travel date and time, number of passengers, vehicle details, identification proof, purpose of travel, How long you stay in Ooty & Kodaikanal.

Why e-Pass Mandatory To Visit Ooty & Kodaikanal ?
The Madras High Court says all cars going to Nilgiris and Kodaikanal between May 7 and June 30 need e passes. There’s no limit on how many they can give out, and people who live there don’t need them. They’re telling officials to tell everyone about the e-passes and to collect details about the cars. They want to make it easy for people to pay tolls online. They’ll use the information to figure out how many cars the roads can handle. Already during the summer tourist season, Ooty-Coimbatore road is one-way till end of May for smooth traffic and parking. They’re worried about too many cars hurting animals and causing water problems. They’re working with IIT and IIM to find smart solutions to these problems. They want to make sure tourism doesn’t harm the environment.

Who need to get E-pass Entry to Ooty ?
After the Madras High Court’s order, vehicles entering the Nilgiris must have an e-pass from May 7 to June 30. TN-43 registered vehicles are exempt from this requirement. Vehicles registered outside the Nilgiris must obtain an e-pass from the RTO by submitting original ownership documents, an insurance certificate, and a pollution certificate, according to the press release. TN e pass for Ooty & Kodaikanal entry is only for the vehicle and not for the persons, so it’s not about limiting the entry but track the vehicle inside and control the traffic using the data.
