Ever Green River Tamirabarani – Origin & History

The Tamirabarani River is a river in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Tamirabarani originates from the place poonkulam located in the Pothigai Hills of Western Ghats and flows eastward into the Bay of Bengal via Tirunelveli & Tuticurin Districts of Tamil Nadu State.

The river is about 160 kilometers (100 miles) long and is an important source of water for agriculture and drinking in the Tirunelveli & Tutucurin region. It is known for its cultural and historical significance as well, with many temples and ancient sites located along its banks.
