The Cheengeri Hills Trek is an easy and enjoyable hike located near Ambalavayal town in Wayanad. What makes this trek different from others in the Western Ghats is the lack of thick trees. Instead, the trail takes you up granite rocks all the way to the top.
When you reach the summit, youβll be rewarded with stunning views. You can see the beautiful Chembra Hills and the large Karapuzha Dam. On clear days, the distant hills of Ooty and the Nilgiris are visible, adding even more charm to the hike.
A local resident mentioned that from the peak, you can see about 60 percent of Wayanad! This gives you a special chance to take in the beauty and vastness of the area. The trek is not just about the hike itself, but also about connecting with nature and enjoying the incredible landscapes of Wayanad. With its open views and simple path, the Cheengeri Hills Trek is a great adventure for both beginners and experienced trekkers.
